2113. In Jenna Strong’s world, ACID – the most brutal, controlling police force in history – rule supreme. No throwaway comment or muttered dissent goes unnoticed – or unpunished. And it was ACID agents who locked Jenna away for life, for a bloody crime she struggles to remember.
The only female inmate in a violent high-security prison, Jenna has learned to survive by any means necessary. And when a mysterious rebel group breaks her out, she must use her strength, speed and skill to stay one step ahead of ACID – and to uncover the truth about what really happened on that dark night two years ago.
My thoughts
A girl who presumably killed her parents
locked up in a high security prison, ingredients for an action packed and
thrilling book. That’s what I thought because I had never heard of this book or
the other before. I won the book in a giveaway on YouTube by XTheShadowRealmX
and I decided not to research this book much. I didn’t want to be prejudiced by
other reviews.
I only had the blurb on the back cover to
guide me and that wasn’t much. However it did spike my interest. And the lack
of explanation worked to the advantage of the book. If I had known more I
would’ve guessed the storyline and probably had figured out who the story
ended. The ending is pretty predictable, or at least it was to me. This may be
because of the many similar books I’ve read in the last two years all of which
have resemblances. But this only goes for the ending.
Everything else that happened in this book
(besides a tyrannical government) was a new experience to me. The main
character, Jenna, was a tough girl from the beginning and the way she acted was
different than that of most main protagonists. I really appreciated that about
this book.
I also really like the story in its whole.
The events leading up the ending were interesting, new and exciting. My
dystopia addiction got a great fix that will last for a long time.

Sounds really good. I've never heard of this book but it sounds unique and unlike other YA books. Think I will be buying this soon! :)
